People from a different generations have very different generational unconscious biases.
To build a successful relationship with someone from a different generation, you need to understand the unconscious biases of their generation and align with their generation’s more powerful unconscious biases.
Equally important is for you to be self-aware of the unconscious biases of your generation.
By focusing on both their generationally-different unconscious biases and your own unconscious biases, you will be better able to adapt and align with their generation’s “Comfort Zone”.
If you do not understand and adapt to their generation’s unconscious biases, you will unintentionally demonstrate that you are ignoring/bypassing their “Generational Comfort Zone”. As a result, you will mistakenly try to develop a relationship with them according to your “Generational Comfort Zone”. That can be a big mistake.
A generationally-different individual will usually interpret this as you not respecting their generation and you wanting to only do things “your way”.
